May 13, 2005 Uh, oh. Friday the 13th! More from March 2005, plus
April and the start of May. I'm going to redesign the site again soon. I'm getting bored with this one. March 22, 2005 We have the rest of the pictures from
January and new ones from February 2005 and March 2005.
January 14, 2005 Livia of course. More details to come. But we can't forget November and December.
November 29, 2004 Finally, it's all done, September and October. What? November is almost over? November will be soon than.
November 27, 2004 While in Brasil, we had a 4d ultrasound performed. We were able to record it on video and there also got some stills.
November 26, 2004 Well, I originally started this update at the end of August, but computer problems delayed me from finishing it then. Then, we went to Brazil, then I got lazy, then ... Anyway here is the first part. More to come very soon.
July 8, 2004 Yes, it's been another four months, sue me, I've been busy. Anyway... We been to Brazil and back, Daniel has turned two and we are expecting another baby at the end of December. Daniel is still as skinny has a rail, won't really eat all that much on his own and has finally started to really talk. He had roseolla recently, which is an odd disease, but is all better now. Brazil was uneventful this time, but due to car trouble, we never made it to the beach. The problems occurred just before we left when Daniel had an ear infection that wouldn't clear up. The doctors decided to operate, but the earliest they could do it was on our originally planned travel day. I was able to reschedule my time off from work and the airline we were traveling on allowed us to change our travel dates without a penalty charge. His ears are all better now. The photos you've all been waiting for are here: Twenty Three Months, April, May and June 2004. Also our first photo of the new little one. You might notice my new page naming scheme. I've decided just to use the month and the year.
March 6, 2004 Yes, it's been four months since the last update. I wasn't really in the mood to do it after my father died just after Christmas. The new photos are when he was Nineteen Months Old, Twenty Months Old, Twenty One Months Old and Twenty Two Months Old. I'm going to need a new numbering scheme soon. I really don't want to tell you when he is 79 months old and saying 6.58 years old is even worse. We're going to Brazil at the end of the month. Let's hope it goes better than the last time we went, when Daniel freaked as we got on the plane. Good thing I brought ear plugs for everybody in the section, but he fell asleep, literally just before we took off.
October 30, 2003. More new photos (of course) at seventeen and eighteen months old. He's 32 inches tall now and weighs 23 pounds. He's tall and skinny. All his teeth are in but he is still reluctant to eat table food.
September 3, 2003. I redesigned the layout and added new photos of Daniel (of course) at fifteen and sixteen months old, our new truck, Heloisa's seminar with Dr. Brian Weiss and our visit with Wayne Scot Lukas. Who is Wayne? Check out the page. June 15, 2003. Some new photos from our house, our pets, and the animals in the area. June 5, 2003. Yeah, I've been lazy. I didn't think I had this many pictures, so I kept
putting it off. He got four new teeth since last we wrote, of course they all came in at once. Two in the front on the bottom and two molars on the bottom. That was a painful two weeks as they broke through. Daniel has also been testing out his abilities. The other day he tried to see if he could run around with his eyes closed. After he ran into a few things, he figured out that it was a bad idea.
So what happened in Brasil? Well after we got to the airport and tried to check in, it was discovered that my visa to enter Brasil was invalid. It was never validated the last time I went. The airline refused to allow me to board. Fortunately it was a thursday and I convinced the airline that I could get a new visa by the next day, so they rebooked us without additional charge on the next day's flight. But know where to stay for the night? We couldn't go back to our house it was too far and we had to go into NYC, first thing, the next day. We ended up staying at an airport hotel for the night, which cost WAY too much money. We were able to get a new visa the next morning without delay, after we explained what happened, but I had to pay for it. (more money wasted.) So we get to Brasil a day late and $400 short. This time I made SURE that they validated my visa. It was a good thing we were delayed a day, because Heloisa's Grandmother had fallen and broken her hip the day before and was in the hospital. They operated on her and things were good for a few days, but then complications set in. The night before Daniel's baptism, she died. Oh and of course, Daniel get sick while we were there and then the Space Shuttle was destroyed the day of his baptism. Oh wait there's more... One of Heloisa's cats in Brasil, got into a fight with a dog and required a trip to the vet for all the puncture wounds it got and while at the vet, they discovered a tumor on its neck and needed to operate on it. The cat is all better now though, so don't worry. You think that's it? Naaa. Heloisa's Aunt got into a car accident on the way home from the baptism, and their dog got attacked by someone with a bb gun and needed to have its tail amputated. Other than that, we had a fun time.
March 23, 2003. Finally, some updates. Two sets of photos, 10 and 11. Daniel is walking now and has six teeth. Two on the bottom and four on top. The trip to Brazil was eventful to say the least, but overall everything went well. I'll write more about it later. (It's late and I'm tired.)
December 22, 2002 And the photos continue on. Two of Daniel's teeth finally broke through. Daniel has finally figured out how to crawl forwards (he was doing it backwards for a while) and is also now able to pull himself up to a standing position. He can also say "daddy." Mommy is thrilled about that. ;-)
November 10, 2002 Yes, even more photos. Including photos of the house and our pets and some of the animals in the area. Since, I never told anyone about the October 8th update, (which I didn't put up on the website until October 22) you might want to check out that update also. Daniel now weighs in at 16.5 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. After teething since he was three months old, his first two teeth have finally broken through his lower gums. And his eating habits are getting worse, he refuses to drink from his bottle. We've tried a sippy cup, but that didn't work either. We have to spoon feed him his formula. That gets old real fast.
October 8, 2002 Oddly enough, more Photos. On September 12, Daniel finally rolled over. He is real good at it now and even prefers to sleep on his side. He is pretty good at sitting up too, but he will occasionally lean too far forward and come crashing down. He is almost ready to crawl. He can sort of pull himself along with his arms, but he hasn't gotten his butt up in the air and coordinated his legs yet.. Still no teeth! I think he is going to need dentures soon. All the kids in school are going to make fun of him. The soy formula alone, causes Daniel to spit up so we still mix in some of the Nutramigen. We've also started him on stage 2 foods, even meats. He loves chicken and corn, but peas are still his favorite. Note: I'm taking off the small sized pictures.
September 10, 2002 Photos of course. Daniel's on "solid" foods now. He just loves those peas. I don't know where he got that from. He also should be off the expensive Nutramigen formula this week. But he still has a milk allergy (which we found out the hard way, ugh, what a mess that was), so he is going on a soy formula. On September 4, Daniel had his last dr's appointment. Another three shots. It's painful to watch. He cry's so hard that nothing comes out and he turns the darkest shade of red that you'll ever see. He hasn't had any bad reactions to any of the shots so far though. He is now 26.5 inches long (67.3 cm) and 15.5 pounds ( 7.03 kg). Also, he still isn't rolling over and no teeth have come in yet.
Since people keep asking, it's pronounced "por-keen-yo." It means little piggy. You know like "This little piggy went to market; this little piggy stayed home." I am of course the big piggy.
What's Old August, 12 2002 On July 2, Daniel went on his latest doctors appointment to get three shots. As of that date he weighed 13 lb, 7 ozs ( 6.1 kg) and was 24 inches ( 60.9 cm) long. Daniel had been sleeping all night long for a few weeks so we decided to try to move him to his crib. July 14 was the first night. He slept well, but we didn't. We slept very lightly listening for him. It took a few days, but we got used to it. A new set of photos. And a set of photos of Daniel's cousin Douglas.
